Livepool beat Arsenal 2-0 Down in today EFL Cup.
A Diogo Jota brace sealed Liverpool’s place in the final of the Carabao Cup after the Reds beat Arsenal 2-0 on aggregate.
Both Arsenal and Liverpool made three changes for the second leg at the Emirates Stadium.
The first leg finished goalless to leave the tie finely poised, with Chelsea awaiting the winners in February’s final.
Arsenal recalled fit-again trio Takehiro Tomiyasu, Emile Smith Rowe and Martin Odegaard in place of the injured Cedric Soares, suspended Granit Xhaka and Eddie Nketiah, who dropped to the bench.
Liverpool, too, made a trio of alterations, Caoimhin Kelleher replacing Alisson Becker in goal as Kaide Gordon and Curtis Jones also came in for the visitors.
Arsenal started well and hit the bar through an Alexandre Lacazette free-kick, with Liverpool reacting and having a goal ruled out for offside as Joel Matip tapped in at the back post.
The visitors did, however, take the lead just before the 20-minute mark as Diogo Jota’s weak effort somehow found a way past Aaron Ramsdale in the Gunners goal.
Jota’s fourth goal in as many appearances against Arsenal was enough to see Liverpool go in 1-0 ahead at the interval.
Jota doubled his tally 11 minutes from time with a neat finish.
Having initially been flagged for offside, the goal was eventually given by VAR.
Arsenal then had substitute Thomas Partey sent off for a pair of bookings in quick succession. Watch & Download “Arsenal 0-2 Liverpool – Goal Highlights Below
